Russians Invade the News. This was the headline in April 1961 by Sophomore Tomahawk reporter Carla Nosse (Trafford High Class of 1963). The article appeared in the school newspaper called The Tomahawk. At that time, Trafford was the only school in Westmoreland County teaching the Russian language. If you were a student in the school back then, do you recall who taught the language? Were you a member of this Tomahawk staff? Did Mr. Ed Lazar of the Jeannette News Dispatch print the photos of the students as Ms. Nosse was hoping?
