Cavittsville Bridge
The Cavittsville Bridge provided access between present day Mahaffey Hill Road and Wallace Ave to cross over Brush Creek in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
The 1876 map above is an early illustration of Cavittsville (Cavettsville).
This aerial photo above shows the present day location of the bridge remains.

Photo above shows the Cavittsville Bridge floating down Brush Creek. The Pennsylvania Railroad Line is on the right side. Take note of the massive ice field.
Roy Bigler II walks across the foot bridge circa 1925. His back is towards Shady Lane and Wallace Ave. The house behind him is present day 102 Shady Lane Trafford PA. Was this bridge removed by mistake in 1931?

This photo was taken in February 2014 and shows the remains of the bridge abutment. The home in the picture is 100 Shady Lane which was not yet built when the old Cavittsville Bridge was still standing. The foot bridge photo circa 1925 does not show this home.
