Luigi “Louis” Petrini Family
Thank you, Carol Petrini Richardson, and the other followers of our Facebook page, for helping us put names to the faces in this photograph. After seeing the location of where the photograph was taken 515 1st Street, Trafford, the photograph was flipped from the previous post to correct the point of view based on the porch in the background. (Present-day 228 1st Street, Trafford PA)
Luigi “Louis” Petrini, the gentleman holding the bottle, was the patriarch of the family. He and his wife Antoinette Ferraro Petrini (1889-1940) immigrated to the United States from Mombercelli, Italy. We don’t know the occasion of the gathering. Perhaps it was to celebrate Louis being released from the hospital after he was struck by an electric truck at the Westinghouse Airbrake in Wilmerding in 1945 where he worked. But then again, our in-depth and meticulous research indicates that this was “the place” for the family to gather, and when you have such a large Italian family, does one really need a reason to celebrate?
