Brenda and the Tabulations

Brenda and the Tabulations had a major US hit recorded in 1967 entitled "Dry Your Eyes". It rose to No. 2 on the singles charts for R&B music, and No. 20 in overall singles sold that year. Remember when you could buy a 45 rpm record of your favorite song?
In 1970, the original members of The Tabulations played at the V & M Lounge, 334 Brinton Ave, Trafford. The V & M were Victor & Michael Mastroianni.
The original members formed in 1966 out of Philadelphia, composed of Brenda Payton, Eddie L. Jackson, Maurice Coates and Jerry Jones. If you were lucky enough to be in the V&M Lounge that night, you would have likely heard the group cover the song "Don't Make Me Over," originally recorded by Dionne Warwick. The Tabulations' version of this song rose to #15 on the R&B singles chart.
So, if you want to reminisce about holding your sweetheart close, and maybe sharing a "high ball" with your friends at the V&M Lounge, here's the music that will take you back to that era. Brenda & The Tabulations - "Dry Your Eyes" (1967)
